MISSION

 

LIFE’s mission is and has always been to provide a wide variety of social services to families and individuals who require such services, regardless of race, religion, creed or color.  LIFE does not intend to limit its services to any particular culture or religion, rather it shall continue to provide its services to those under-served communities most in need of them.  This includes services and programming (including Medicaid Service Coordination and Respite services) for our developmentally disabled community, after-school educational programming for at-risk youth, anti-gang programming, fire prevention and safety as well as access to a myriad of resources for people in need of all forms of social services.

The mission of New York Mortgage Advocates is to use our expertise and knowledge to help people in need, whether through the direct services we provide in mortgage foreclosure counseling or through our extensive network of contacts and other services.  We are striving to help save neighborhoods from falling into ruin by keeping the homeowners who love those neighborhoods in their homes and keeping the banks out of them.

 

WHAT IS LIFE?

 

Labor & Industry For Education, Inc. (“LIFE”) is a non-sectarian, not-for-profit 501(c)(3)organization formed over twenty-five years ago to help people of all denominations, cultures and abilities. LIFE is based in Cedarhurst, NY.  Through its partnerships with various agencies, LIFE also has satellite locations in underserved areas such as Bushwick, Williamsburg, Coney Island, Hempstead, Far Rockaway, NY and Inwood and all of Nassau County.

Over the past three decades, LIFE has provided direct and indirect services to thousands of needy individuals regardless of their race, religion or ethnic background.  These individuals range from toddlers to the aged, many with handicaps.  To serve this population, LIFE has developed close relationships with other non-profit organizations, religious organizations and public school districts.

 

LIFE runs a wide variety of social service programs which provide a myriad of important services to underserved communities across New York City and Long Island.
